Scaffold or Sidewalk Shed Complaint to report a problem with a scaffold or shed

Scaffold work requiring site safety compliance must be routinely inspected for safety. The Department of Buildings (DOB) conducts these safety inspections.

The Construction Safety Compliance Unit processes:

Property owner or construction manager requests to remove sidewalk sheds
Requests to remove projects from the Site Safety Program after work has been completed
Suspending Scaffold Pre-Use Inspection

To requests a sidewalk shed removal:

Complete a Construction Safety Compliance Appointment Request form
Email the form to cscuappointments@buildings.nyc.gov
