The Department of Health encourages mothers to breastfeed babies. Breast milk is filled with vitamins and nutrients that babies need. It also saves time and money.

Employers and small business owners can request a "Breastfeeding Welcome Here" sign and toolkit for businesses, which help support a family friendly environment for employees and customers.

Employers and small business owners are encouraged to designate a room for breastfeeding. You can order a "Breastfeeding Is Welcome Here" sign to help identify a space and inform employees.

Bilingual signs are available in:

  • English with Spanish
  • English with Haitian Creole 
  • English with Arabic

  • A sample worksite accommodation policy
  • A poster that can be placed in a visible location for your employees to read
