The City's one-stop referral centers give pregnant students information about their school options. These centers are for students who have fallen behind in traditional high schools.

Pregnant students may receive instruction at home if they have special medical needs. The student's doctor, the Division of Special Education, and the Office of Home Instruction must approve home instruction.

Pregnant students can take three months of maternity leave after the baby is born and then return to school.

Pregnant students of school age are required to attend school unless medical reasons prevent it.

When a doctor gives medical approval after delivery, you are expected to return to school.

The Living for the Young Family through Education (LYFE) Program provides day care services for children, ages 8 weeks to 3 years old, of students still attending school. This program tries to meet the specialized needs of young families.
