Know-Your-Rights

• All New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status, have rights and protections under the law. 
• The ¾ÅÉ«ÉçÇø does not conduct federal immigration enforcement. The New York City Police Department does not ask about the immigration status of crime victims, witnesses, or other people who ask for help.
• The ¾ÅÉ«ÉçÇø has confidentiality protections in place for all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status, who are accessing important City services.
• Federal enforcement officers, which includes ICE, cannot enter hospitals, schools, or shelters.
